My daughter bought a gateway laptop. When we were at the store they told her to take the package deal of virus protection, spyware protection and to take the garbage off that they have on for advertising. Oh and she got the extra protection plan too.
The next day after this we took the laptop back. It scratched cd’s when inserted, not all of the advertising was off of it. So they finished taking the advertising off but said the cd compartment was fine. They put in a cd while we was there and it was so scratched you couldn’t tell if another scratch was on it or not. We told them to use a new one which they replied they won’t do that and ruin a new cd.
Ok so we take it home again. Now the scroll locks up and won’t work it just does the jitters along the side. Still scratches cds. Spyware don’t work or the antivirus protection was outdated ending the day she bought the thing.
So now we are back twice in less that 10 days only to be told they will not take the computer back without a stocking fee and will not refund the charge of taking that advertising off. Which by the way would of been around 300 dollar loss on her behalf.
They played a game on it and told her it was fine. We told them it also locks up and the only way to turn it off is to pull the battery. What the heck!
So it looks like she is stuck with a laptop that don’t work very good it is slower than snails and they said it was fast. Compared to what a turtle? They didn’t fix anything on it and played a game and said everything is right. I called the support number, huh! what a laugh that is helpful not! All they did was tell me that if we are unsatisfied with the product to return it and take the loss.
Don’t buy from Best Buy unless you want to be unhappy and ripped off. The geek squad is a laugh too. Geek is the word for it they are nothing but geeks!! They are so rude it is unbelievable.
