Clovis Marine is what Clovis Marine is–a shyster who would clip you for a ton of cash without blinking an eye. As an avid fisherman and retired with a Bass Boat–I was looking for a shop to maintain my equipment. I made the error—-as others have before me—of wondering into Dave Flum’s shop called Clovis Marine.
Several thousand dollars later the boat was again broke down. The repairs at the alternative shop were much cheaper and correct. Upon research I find what others have experienced. The court records speak for themselves. The word is spreading rapidly.
Dave has a habit of cleaning the clock of new boat owners. It’s almost like a game for him to see how far he can push the envelop. It is sad but true. Countless needless repairs. Flum has en-richened himself on the backs of those who trusted him. Then they learn what a cheat he really is.
Flums reputation in this community is well earned btw. I hear horror stories every time I am out on the lake and at the docks about repairs from Clovis Marine. I myself would never even think of sending my worst enemy’s boat to that shop. OK maybe my ex’s attorney–but that is all.
Clovis Marine does not back up their work. Their work product is poor. The prices are sky high. The quality is not there. Their reputation is clear. The word on the lake is to stay away.
I hope sharing my experience will prevent others from being cheated by cheap repairs. Those of us fisherman, call Clovis Marine—Cheap Marine. OR Cheat Marine. I can only guess how many boaters have sold their boats in disgust after dealing with Flum. What a sorry shame he continues to scalp so many boat owners.
