I hired Jennifer Coburn, JC Consulting & Marketing on the 22nd October, 2010 for making cold calls to sell tech support subscriptions for home/small business based customers. I made a payment of $360 via PayPal to her and was assured 4-6 leads every week. Post that began a long series of postponing and delay in providing the guaranteed leads as assured in the agreement. First she stated that she suffered from laryngitis and had to hold off for a few days. Then she said that the approaching holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year) are causing interested people to hold off till the New Year and she would resume work from the 4th of January. January onwards, she said that he mother had taken ill and she has been in NY to take care of her and will resume work soon. After sending her several emails, she replied on the 17th Feb-11 that she would like to start afresh from the 1-March-11 citing her family problems. She then went Mia again emailed on the 10th March-11 stating that was under the weather and will resume shortly. When emailed again on 23-March-11 she said that she had been emailing me and I might not be getting them. Tired of being given a run around, I asked for a refund, which is 50% of the amount as per the contract. She said that she will make it around the 15th of April. When emailed again on the 14th, she cited her mothers ill health as the reason for having to put refund on the hold. After that I sent her several emails to which she responded saying that she will honor the refund as and when she gets back. On 19-Apr-11 when I emailed her several times asking for the refund she said that her mother has expired and she needs time to grieve. After checking several online forums like complaintsboard.com, rippoffreport.com and scam.com, I have come to know that I am not the only one and she has duped plenty of other people like this. Her stories remain identically the same with everyone and she even had a story about her brother dying from cancer. I also contacted one of her previous customers who confirmed that Jennifer’s mother ‘died’ previously as well when he was dealing with her. When I reported the matter to Guru.com, she chose to have her account suspended rather than issuing the refund. I wish to get the agreed refund and also bring to your notice her fraudulent business practices so that there are no more victims like myself. Its mid May now and I still haven’t recieved my refund.

If you have been fraudulently charged on either your debit or credit card, or coerced into paying and was scammed, we would advise you to immediately either visit in person, or call your Financial Institution that issued you the card. Open a fraud dispute on all charges incurred, file fraud charges against the committers and cancel your card numbers… then get new card numbers issued to avoid more Fraud charges in the future!
Most of these Scam companies will offer you zero help with a refund, you MUST take matters into your OWN HANDS! Sometimes they will promise you that they will refund you to buy more time… DO NOT fall for that, from our experience most never see a refund. They are counting on enough time to pass that your fraud claim time limit window will expire, ultimately allowing them to keep your hard earned money! File the Dispute ASAP or Open a Dispute with PayPal and Immediately Escalate it, if you paid through PayPal to get your funds back! The longer you wait to dispute, the less chance you have of getting your money back. This is YOUR MONEY, fight for it!

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), is a U.S. government agency that makes sure banks, lenders, and other financial companies treat you fairly.
They will investigate and can sometimes get the payment reversed and taken back from these Scam Artists even if you lost your Fraud dispute with your Financial Institution due to the Scammers lying! Stay vigilent and good luck!
