In July of (2005)My husband and I purchased a RCA Scenium(61w164with HD-DLP)TV. It was daliver to our home about a week later.
When thay open the box the TV screen had a large hole in it.so thay call their office and were told to bring the TV back and tell us that thay would get a new one just as soon as thay fine one.
Well thay found one it was 100 miles from our city and it would take another 2 to 3 days to get it to us
We got our second TV and had itabout two weeks when it just stop working. We call Thomson, We were told that their are steps thay have to take and the frist one was to make anpointment,with one of their service center in our area.
Thay said someone from their service center would call us for an apointment to look at the TV.
Three weeks have gone bye with no phone call,so we call Thomson again,Asked the girl that ansewer the phone to fine out why noone had called us yet.
She told us that she just got off the phone with the service center and thay would call on the same day just wait for there call.At the end of June we finely got the guy out to look at the TV. He said it was the lamp bulb and he would have to order the lamp because he didn’t have one in stock.
But before he could order it we had to let Thomson now about it,to see if thay want to do that.Thomson did tell the guy to go ahead and order it.that took another 2 weeks.
After two long weeks the service center call leting us know that the part was in but he would not beable to come to our home for another week or so.
When the guy finely got to our home with the lamp all we wanted to do was see it go on. but that didn’t happen. the guy told us he didn’t now what was wrong,and that he could not fix it.We had to call Thomson to let them now what happen.
When we did call Thomson, We asked for our money back,but the person on the line with us told us that thay don’t do buy back and less it the last resort. that we should be more patient,that Thomson was doing everything thay could to get us a new TV.
We once again felt as if we were getting the run around with Thomson.All most 3months went bye and we did finely get our third TV, it was the frist week of November(2005).
When the guys brought the TV to the house it was build at the factory the month before and sent to us right after that.
I remenber saying to the two guys that brought us the TV that I new that this one wouldn’t go out because it came right from the factory and that thay would take better care in getting us a working one.
But I was wrong the third TV went out on us about the end of November .we called Thomson back again. telling our story to someone new and then being put on hold for 20min. Just to tell us that thay can replace it again, but I said noway. We want our money,and that was the only thing we would take.
Thomson did send a service person out to see what was wrong with the third TV the guy told us that it was the lamp engine,and that it couldn’t be fix in house that it would cost just as much as what we paid for the hole TV.Just for that one part.
In Dec. (2005) we called Thomson to fine out what thay were going to do and thay told us that thay were waitting on the service guy to send his finding to them.and after thay get that they will have an ansewer for us.
Well in January (2006) We called Thomson again to ask for our money the guy on the phone told us that as soon as thay get the okay to have the third TV pick up thay then could start on getting us our money back
Its know March(2006) and we still have the old TV here , taking up space in my living room.In late January My husband and I went out and got a new TV (not an RCA) After tell our story to this company thay want todo us right and boy did thay.We now owe a top of the line TV.with HD-DLPand 1080i.and a 7 year warrenty parts and labor.
We are still wait and calling Thomson,because we still have the TV and yet to see a check Now when we call Thomson (which is about every three days) we are asking about the TVand about the check.
Two weeks ago when I called Thomson and thay told me that it would take up to six weeks for the check to be sign.and another two weeks to get it to us.
Well that was a lie because when my husband call last week, the check had just been sent to the main office to get the okay to send it and after that it would take up to six weeks to get .I cant belive it a check should not take that long to send,
We can’t belive any one at Thomson thay all have given us the run around.its now March and we are still waitting for a check.
To every one who reads this,Make sure you do your homework and get the warrenty (the in House one)that way you can get your stuff fix in the same city as were you live. and one more thing DONT BUY FROM THOMSON THAY WILL RIP-YOU OFF
