We built our home through United-Bilt 6 years ago. We were so exited to have a brand new home with no down payment. As each year goes by, the flooring in our home gets worse. It is now unlevel and creaks very badly. It’s emabarrasing to have any guests in our home due to the floors being so loud to walk on. We contacted United-Bilt and they said, “Sorry but all warranties have expired. We can give you some advise on how to replace your floor.”
Who wants to replace the floors in a 6 year old house. We shouldn’t have to. We had a carpenter come by and take a look at our floors and to his amazement, the floors aren’t even nailed to the floor joist. I’ve lived in mobile homes my whole life and they are alot stronger than this house.
That’s not the only thing wrong. The sheetrock is cracking throughout the whole house. There are nail heads coming through the walls. The toilet leaks. The sink leaks. The porch railing on the front of the house is falling apart. I would not recommend anyone building a home through this company. We are now stuck with a $750.00 morgtage payment for 24 more years. We were going to sell but the house would not even appraise for what we owe on it. So yes we have been had by this company. We pay our bills and we are good people. We deserve better. For the amount of money we are paying for this house, we could be living in a mansion!!! If this house was a car then it would fit under the Lemon Law.
