A month ago I ordered a vonage phone service. They were supposed to contact bellsouth to transfer my existing phone number. After 2 weeks I called vonage and asked why bellsouth line is still on. They could not start the transfer process because they could not e-mail me the authorization form because they misspelled my e-mail address.
They apologized and promised me not to charge me for unused dates due to their fault. Two weeks later they charged me monthly fee. When they charge me a monthly service fee their router was not even a month old with me (the date stamp is still on the box)! Last morning when I asked them why bellsouth line is still on they said they could not transfer because I am using the same line for dsl and phone. Being furious in their mishandling and greed I asked them to cancel.
soon they charged my account $119. When I asked them the detail $40 disconnection fee $79 for the router. The router box even not opened yet.
They do not want the router to be returned, they know it is not worthy of $10.
Without getting connected they ripped me off about $200 so far. What a gluttonouss company is vonage!
Although all the communication is between me and vonage the account is in my sister. So far she has not given them the authorization to disconnect. I need a legal advice on how to charge them if they do not refund my money after she tell them that they cancelled the account without her knowledge.
